Sea Bead Necklaces

As a surfer and kitesurfer, the ocean plays a big role in my life, and the wild north Atlantic and its coastline have inspired my sea bead necklace range.
I wanted to make a necklace that looks great, embodies the surfer style, and survives the abrasive nature of sea, sand, salt and wind. So, for the cord I use saddlers black waxed nylon which is super strong, looks better than leather and doesn’t rot, and for the clasp a handmade glass bead and a high tech stretchy rubber o-ring that is oil and chemical resistant so it won’t perish.

Art Glass Necklaces

My necklace designs are constantly changing and evolving as I explore new ideas, new colors and new techniques. Generally I like pure, clean lines that let the glass talk for itself. The glass I use is of the highest quality and a stunningly beautiful material to start with. The challenge for me is to let the glass be true to its nature, while taking the form of my design. Glass is a difficult medium to work with, and takes years to master. After blowing large-scale work for over two decades, I'm really enjoying the detailed, microcosmic world of flameworking, particularly in the realm of jewelry and body adornment.
