Date: 2026
Location: Isle of Geese, Tralee, County Kerry
Dimensions: 5.3 M long x 3.5 M high
Materials: Laser cut Corten Steel
Commissioned by Kerry County Council for the Isle of Geese urban renewal project. Flight and Industry is a 5mm thick laser cut Corten Steel mural. It was fabricated in 11 panels, and then installed onto the side wall of the outdoor amphitheatre located in the Isle of Geese park in Tralee.
The site was the former home of the Denny bacon factory, and in old maps was labeled as “the pork shambles”. Earlier maps labeled it as “The Island of Geese.” The mural reflects this in the image of the pig and butchers hooks, as well as the brickwork designs and the geese flying above. In the bottom right corner there is an aria that is reminiscent of the surface of a microchip. This represents the current process of urban renewal
